Becoming a Man

Cheese!

There comes a time when your used to be baby is suddenly old enough to actually be growing up.  I think it has to do with teeth.  It seems to here anyway.  Fisher lost his first tooth in early July.  He has since learned ... to chop wood with an ax, shoot a BB gun, lost two more teeth, has a MAJOR crush, will be turning 6 in a few short weeks, and starting home school Monday!  That's. A. Lot.  And lucky for you I have videos of the ax and BB gun. 

Interestingly, Fisher is being taught here by an old friend of mine from Philmont.  (I hadn't seen him in probably 12 years and I didn't even know he was living in Gunnison.  It was so surprising to run into him at Eric's house!) 




Learning the basics of BB shooting with a gun that was way too big.  They ended up cutting several inches off the back end and he did great.  I missed the TWO times he actually hit the wooden duck in the pond! 

 Becoming a man is exhausting!

It sure is hard work...growing up like he is. But the days when he'll fall asleep in the laundry remind me of the little one he used to be. I'm so proud of who he's becoming.
